Reception at 5871 Kanan Rd — about four exits west of Las Virgenes

A massage near Calabasas without the resort markup: The Agoura Hills Spa at 5871 Kanan Rd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301, about 12 minutes west of the Commons on the 101. A 60-minute Signature Massage — deep tissue or Swedish, essential oil included — is $100; 90 minutes is $168. Hot stone with gua sha scraping, cupping, a private couples room, and the iRelaxbot robotic bed round out the menu. Open every day, 10 AM to 9 PM.

Calabasas has a particular massage problem, and it isn't scarcity. It's that the options tend to split into two camps: the chain-membership places, and the resort-adjacent spas where a basic hour quietly costs what our ninety does. A lot of people in the Calabasas Park and Las Virgenes neighborhoods have decided the smarter move is one exit further west. Twelve minutes. Same freeway you're already on for half your errands.

From the Commons to Kanan Road

Simple drive. Get on the 101 heading west — the signs say north, nobody here calls it that — and count exits: Parkway Calabasas, Las Virgenes, Lost Hills, Liberty Canyon, Chesebro, then Kanan Road. Get off, turn toward the hills (north), and inside two blocks you'll see the plaza. From Old Town or the Commons that's about 12 minutes with the freeway behaving. From the Hidden Hills gates it's 14. From the Mulholland Highway side of Calabasas, you've got a choice: the freeway, or the back way along Mulholland and up Cornell Road to Agoura Road, which is slower and a lot prettier.

Approximate one-way drive times to 5871 Kanan Rd. Add ten minutes at weekday rush hour; the 101 between Las Virgenes and Kanan is the slow stretch.

Parking is a flat lot at the door. No valet to tip, no structure to circle. It sounds like a small thing until you've spent six minutes hunting a space at the Commons on a Saturday.

What Calabasas guests actually book here

Three things, over and over. First, the plain deep tissue or Swedish hour — the Signature. You say where it hurts; that's where the hour goes. Nothing scripted, no eight-minutes-per-limb routine. A surprising number of people who came expecting a basic rubdown leave having discovered that a therapist who stays on one shoulder for fifteen minutes is a different product than one who doesn't.

Second, the hot stone session — heated basalt plus gua sha scraping in a single 60-minute block, $196. The scraping is what separates it from the hot stone on every other menu, and it's the one Calabasas guests tend to discover on a first visit and rebook for the second.

Third, the couples room. Two tables, an infrared sauna cabin in the room, door closed. $200 for an hour for both of you, which is roughly what one person pays at the places that put "resort" in the name. There is one such room. Weekend evenings go days in advance; a Tuesday at 7 is wide open.

One exit further west is the difference between paying for the lobby and paying for the massage.

And then the thing nobody in Calabasas has at all: the iRelaxbot robotic massage bed. Three programs from $55, a private room, even pressure down the whole back, nobody to make small talk with. People who find a human massage a bit much tend to love it. People who just want the robot to handle it on a Wednesday night also tend to love it.

What a massage near Calabasas will and won't do

The same as a massage anywhere. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says the research generally backs massage for short-term relief of muscle tension, stress, and some kinds of pain — it may help neck and shoulder pain, though the benefit may be short-lived — and is equally clear it won't cure a medical condition. The American Massage Therapy Association frames the wellness case in the same careful terms. So that's what we'll claim: you'll walk out looser and calmer than you walked in. It's a massage, not a treatment plan.

Credentials, and what to tell us first

Many California cities require massage professionals to be CAMTC-certified (California Massage Therapy Council) — you're welcome to ask about your therapist's credentials when you book. NCCIH's guidance on choosing a massage therapist says the same thing: pick a licensed practitioner and raise any health conditions before the session. Pregnancy, blood thinners, a recent injury or surgery — mention it when you reserve and the plan gets adjusted before anyone starts.

Prices — the Signature Massage menu

Flat pricing. No membership to join, no package to decode, no "upgrade" conversation at the desk. Below is the menu, and it's what you pay.

Pricing

Signature Massage

Deep tissue or Swedish — your pressure, your focus — with essential oil. From a 30-minute reset to a full 90 minutes.

  • Body Massage · 30 min $68
  • Signature Massage · 60 min $100
  • Signature Massage · 90 min $168

Prices in USD. Hot stone + scraping $196, cupping add-on $40, couples from $200, iRelaxbot from $55 — all on the full service menu.

New here? Book the 60-minute Signature. Something's been wrong for a month — a low back, a shoulder: book the 90. Stuck between a Viewpoint pickup and a dinner at the Commons: the 30 is a real reset, not a sample. And if you're making an evening of it, Whizin Market Square is two minutes from the spa — the easier version of the date night that doesn't involve driving back east on a full stomach.

Massage near Calabasas — questions

Is The Agoura Hills Spa in Calabasas?
No. We're one city west, at 5871 Kanan Rd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301 — about 12 minutes from most Calabasas addresses on the 101. We'd rather you know that before you get in the car than discover it from the map pin.
How do I get there from the Commons or Old Town?
Hop on the 101 heading west (northbound, if you're reading the signs). Four or five exits later you're at Kanan Road. Exit, head north a couple of blocks, and we're in the plaza on Kanan. About 12 minutes from the Commons when traffic's normal; a touch more from the Mulholland side of town. If you'd rather avoid the freeway entirely, the back way along Mulholland Highway and up Cornell Road is prettier and slower — give it twenty-plus.
Why not just book somewhere in Calabasas?
If something close to home works for you, do that. Calabasas guests tend to come to us for one of four reasons: the hot stone session that includes gua sha scraping, cupping as a proper add-on, the iRelaxbot robotic bed, or a private couples room with an infrared sauna cabin — none of which are easy to find on the Calabasas side. Plus we're open until 9 PM every day, which matters more than people expect on a Tuesday.
What does a first visit cost?
A 60-minute Signature Massage is $100 — deep tissue or Swedish, essential oil included, your pressure. Ninety minutes is $168. The 30-minute body massage is $68 if you're wedged between a school pickup and a dinner reservation. No membership, no tiers, no surprise at the counter.
Can we come as a couple?
Yes — one private couples room, two tables, two therapists, $200 for 60 minutes or $299 for 90. There's a single couples room, so Friday and Saturday evenings need booking days ahead. The full write-up is at couples massage near Calabasas.
Should I book, or can I walk in from Calabasas?
Book. We'll take a walk-in whenever there's an open room, but a 12-minute drive is a lot to bet on a free table at 7 PM. Reserve online through Fresha — it shows live slots — or call (818) 540-8060 from the car.
